Ayesha Zaman is a medical doctor with an MBBS from Rawalpindi Medical College and a Master of Medical Sciences in Global Health Delivery from Harvard Medical School. With over eight years of experience across clinical care, qualitative research, and public health, her work has always been shaped by one question: what does it take for communities to trust the systems meant to serve them?

Her research focuses on vaccine equity, community health worker engagement, and strengthening health systems in low-resource settings. For her Master’s thesis, she spent time in Rawalpindi conducting ethnographic fieldwork to understand why Pashtun families including Afghan refugee communities  who were refusing polio vaccination. She didn’t just study the numbers; she sat with families, listened to their concerns, and worked to understand the gap between public health programmes and the people they were trying to reach.

Ayesha is also the co-founder of the Zaman Welfare Foundation, a community-driven initiative she built alongside her clinical work. Through the foundation, she has helped establish urgent care and dialysis centre.
