Positioning Global Health Research for Equity and Systems Change: a rapid review of equitable principles and toolkits with focus on partnerships, institutional roles, and global south empowerment

Although numerous principles and guidelines have been published across organizations and research groups, the participation of global south researchers and institutions in their development has been limited. To examine these challenges, we conducted a rapid review to identify key concepts and definitions, and to provide a concise overview of existing tools and resources that support equitable global health research. By mapping key concepts, examining existing guidelines, and identifying the actors who hold the power to influence practice, we underscore the need to shift from developing additional equitable partnership frameworks toward transforming the incentive structures that govern global health research.
