Gordane V. Calloo, HBSc HBA(C)

Gordane holds a Specialist HBSc in Medical Anthropology from the University of Toronto and an HBA in Global Health from York University. Her academic background bridges medical anthropology and global health, with a strong commitment to understanding how social and structural factors shape disease patterns and clinical outcomes. She is engaged in interdisciplinary research that integrates theory, population-level analysis, and clinical inquiry. Her long-term goal is to practice at the intersection of social science, medicine, and education—advancing equity-driven research, informing health policy, and contributing to medical research that meaningfully integrates the biological and social dimensions of illness. Her current independent study involves leading an institutional curriculum analysis examining how Diversity, Equity, Decolonization, and Inclusion (DEDI) frameworks are integrated across undergraduate programs in York University’s Faculty of Health, employing a REB-approved qualitative analysis, and anti-racist frameworks to identify curricular gaps and implementation challenges.
